This handmade embroidered deer snail wall hanging is a quirky piece of textile wall art, inspired by the mediaval margialia. Stitched onto cotton and wool felt using free-motion embroidery, this unusual little creature is finished with a wooden dowel, ready to hang.

Each piece is made to order using a sewing machine, with the fabric guided by hand - a technique that feels a little like drawing with thread. This creates the unique lines, textures and details that give each design its own personality.

Please note: You will not receive the exact piece shown in the photographs, but one very similar. As each design is stitched freehand, no two wall hangings will be completely identical. These little variations are part of the charm of handmade art.

I use a duties-paid shipping service for US orders, so you should not normally be asked to pay the same import charges again when your order is delivered.
